Kelson Group’s Liberty Pointe Welcomes Residents Home

Posted On Dec 22, 2021

Kelson Group proudly opened Liberty Pointe, the newest development on the campus of the Thompson Rivers University (TRU) and welcomed the first residents’ home on December 5, 2021. The five-storey, 42 suite rental building is 100% rented with residents feeling comfortable in their new homes.

It’s all in the name! Aptly named Liberty Pointe as residents find their independence at university in the heart of the Thompson Rivers University campus. Liberty Pointe is a part of the 90-acre parcel of land that comprises The Reach’s master planned community at the university. Residents of Liberty Pointe include university students, staff, and faculty, as well as community members who have simply found modern rental spaces on campus with abundant conveniences nearby.

“We recognized the tremendous opportunity to provide a third Kelson Group development on the campus at TRU after Legacy Square and Rockcliffe at TRU,” said Jason Fawcett, president of Kelson Group.  “It is part of our legacy to help residents live better and we were pleased in knowing we could fill a portion of the housing gap in Kamloops and aid the shortage of quality rental homes.”

Location is key and Liberty Pointe is close to shopping, business, financial services, and recreational opportunities. Also complimenting the cat friendly building are the numerous amenities residents will enjoy on the property including in-suite laundry, private balconies, an amenity room, common rooftop patio, secure underground parking, and extra storage for electric and non-electric bikes.

Fawcett adds “It's our hope that Liberty Pointe will deliver the same value and convenience for those who choose to live in this beautiful area of the city, as Legacy Square has.”

Plans for an official ribbon cutting are in the works with The Reach to celebrate both Liberty Pointe and the Rockcliffe at TRU developments.  COVID restrictions have been followed and we will reassess once it is safe to celebrate together.
