Dufferin Terrace Renovation

In our goal to help our residents live better, we are always looking for ways to improve upon the rental properties we own and operate. Today, we feature Dufferin Terrace Apartments, located at 525 Dalgleish Drive in Kamloops. This apartment building offers one and two bedroom suites and is located close to Thompson Rivers University.

Our team did a full lobby update, creating a fresh and bright area that enhanced the sense of arrival for the building. So many of our residents use this space daily and it's one of the first impressions their friends and family have of their homes, so it was important the area stayed open, spacious and welcoming.

The inspiration for this space was a mid century glamour aesthetic. Luckily, the existing gold quartz wall in the lobby is a perfect fit with this design theme, and we were able to use the colors in the rock as a jumping off point for the space. The refreshed lobby boasts whitewashed walls, black iron fixtures and gold accents. The rich navy-blue velvet wingback chairs are a colorful and comfortable addition to the lobby, an inviting space to sit and enjoy.

On the heels of the lobby updates, we also had an opportunity to renovate two suites at Dufferin Terrace. Both suites received a luxurious face lift including new kitchen and bath cabinetry as well as a debut of our vinyl plank flooring in warm wood tones. The new flooring runs through the living room, kitchen and large storage room and provides a cohesive look to the suite. We were inspired to install lateral moving stained barn wood doors at the storage area in these suites to offer tenants the flexibility to use the space as simple storage or as a quiet office area. These combined updates give a fresh and modern feel to the suite.

We look forward to offering further updates throughout the portfolio because we know beautiful spaces help residents live better!
