I enjoy looking back each year to what we accomplished as a team to provide apartments to help our residents live better. Oftentimes, I find we can all get caught up in our daily tasks and may not feel like we are moving forward. When we take a moment to reflect on the year though, all we have done as a team becomes clear and is inspiring to me. In 2023, our team opened Fraser Landing, a beautiful 118-suite apartment rental building in Surrey, B.C., kept our crews busy with many renovations throughout our portfolio of apartment buildings in B.C. and Alberta, plus constructed a large portion of a three-storey underground parkade and started building the first ten floors of Trillium tower in our City Gardens development in Kamloops, B.C. We also proudly rebuilt and reopened Delair Court Building “B” in Abbotsford, B.C., one of our apartment buildings that experienced a fire in February of 2021. This past year, our team was so pleased to donate to both the Abbotsford Emergency Support Services and Salvation Army Cascade Community Church who were on the ground immediately after the fire to help the 57 families who lived in Delair Court find shelter and support. We also enjoyed the opportunity to participate in our Annual Residents Food Drive where we matched the food and cash donations our residents collectively gathered to support local Food Banks in the ten cities where we own and operate rental buildings throughout B.C. and Alberta. As we head into the new year, we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary as a company. Back in 1974, our founder Ron Fawcett bought our first apartment building. Since then, we have not only grown our portfolio of apartment buildings, but also added to our wonderful staff team who strive to provide quality apartment buildings to help our residents live better. I would like to extend my most heartfelt gratitude to each one of you. Your commitment to making our apartment communities vibrant and welcoming is appreciated and noticed. To our residents, as a company we would all like to thank you for choosing Kelson Group as your home. We sincerely appreciate the trust you have placed in our team as we continue to remain dedicated to providing dependable service, maintaining safe environments, and fostering a sense of safety and belonging. As we look back, we are thankful. As we look ahead, we are filled with optimism and look to celebrate another 50 years of growth and shared success.
