REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)
Mural Installation – Galloway-Ellis 220 4th Avenue (Back Alley), Kamloops, BC
Overview:
We invite artists and artist teams with experience in outdoor murals to submit a proposal to design and paint a mural on the back-alley wall of 220 4th Avenue, located in downtown Kamloops. This initiative aims to celebrate the spirit and identity of Kamloops through public art.
Theme:
Proposals may explore any theme relevant to Kamloops, including but not limited to:
- Indigenous themes.
- Railway and ranching history.
- Local artistic community.
- Natural landscapes and ecosystems.
- Cultural diversity and community stories.
Proposal Requirements:
All submissions must include:
- A detailed sketch or mock-up of the proposed mural.
- A proposed budget including artist fees, materials, and any additional costs.
- A project timeline (April–June 2026).
- A detailed work plan that includes safety considerations for the back alley.
- A maintenance plan for the longevity and upkeep of the mural.
Wall Details:
Location: Back-alley wall of 220 4th Avenue, Kamloops, BC
Surface: Painted brick wall
Dimensions: Approx. 50ft wide x 15ft tall. Will consider other dimensions.
Timeline:
- Submission Deadline: August 31, 2025
- Selection Decision: December 31, 2025
- Project Start: April 2026
- Completion Deadline: June 30, 2026
