RED BRIDGE RAVEN Brings New Public Art to Downtown Kamloops
Did you know there is a new mural in downtown Kamloops that pays tribute to one of the city’s most familiar landmarks?
The RED BRIDGE RAVEN mural is now complete at Kelson Group’s office at 220 4th Avenue. Painted by internationally renowned muralist ARCHER in collaboration with Kamloops artist Vaughn Warren, the mural brings together local memory, public art, and a symbol many Kamloops residents will recognize.
The mural was painted from May 19 to June 1, 2026, with Kamloops serving as the first stop on ARCHER’s BC-wide mural painting tour. Beginning June 2, 2026, community members are encouraged to stop by Kelson Group to see the completed piece in person.
For Warren, the mural is deeply personal. As a lifelong Kamloops resident, he spent much of his youth around Pioneer Park and the Red Bridge, swimming, climbing, and spending summer days near the river. He also remembers ravens living around the bridge, which made ARCHER’s signature raven motif especially fitting.
“The RED BRIDGE RAVEN mural is very meaningful to me as a lifelong Kamloops resident,” said Warren. “It was an opportunity to create something that helps me grieve for the Red Bridge, while also looking forward and recognizing that change is coming to Kamloops.”
The mural invites people to reflect on the Red Bridge’s place in Kamloops’ history while also looking ahead to the city's future. Warren hopes the piece offers “a sense of movement toward closure” and reminds people that creativity can help a community process change together.
Warren also shared his appreciation for Kelson Group’s role in making the project possible. “We’re so appreciative of Kelson Group for the opportunity,” said Warren. “Organizations that have the funding to support the arts are still crucial these days.”
Kelson Group is proud to support this public art project and help bring more arts and culture into the downtown core.
