From Drab to Fab- College Manor gets a Facelift!

You know that moment when you look in the mirror and think, “Yep... it’s time for a refresh”? Well, our beloved College Manor building had one of those moments — and we couldn’t ignore it any longer.
Over the years, the paint had faded, the walls looked a bit tired, and let’s be honest — beige just wasn’t doing it any favors. Originally, we had a modest plan: give the front and sides of the building a quick one-coat refresh in the same color, just to perk things up a little. Easy, breezy, and budget-friendly.
Turns out, though, no one was particularly fond of the faded beige-ish tone the building has been sporting over the years. And once you see it, you can’t unsee it. With just 48 hours on the clock, it was time to pivot. Challenge accepted!
The Blue Breakthrough
For simplicity, speed, and let’s face it — sanity — we decided to refresh the blue accents as well as the stucco this time around. Not only did it breathe new life into the building’s exterior, but it also avoided a full-blown color crisis.
The updated scope of work included applying a single coat of paint to all the wood and stucco surfaces on the front, both sides, and the back entrance of the building. We also gave the top cap a couple of fresh coats of paint for a clean, polished finish. And rather than introducing a new color into the mix, we stuck with the existing blue to keep things consistent and cohesive.
A Little Extra TLC at the Back
While we were at it, we decided to show the back of the building some love, too. Why? Because some vents needed replacement, and a few siding patches required repair. It just made sense — a mini makeover now to stretch the life of the original siding for a few more years. Smart and stylish? Yes please.
“Our neighboring tenants at Stetson Place are even loving the change,” says building manager, Alayna Middlestead, “They are the ones who get to see it every day and are finding it looks like a whole new place!”
The Final Result?
Fresh paint, clean lines, and a subtle but meaningful transformation that gave our College Manor building a new lease on life. It’s amazing what a little color (and a lot of teamwork) can do!
“I think that the paint job looks amazing and definitely refreshed the building,” exclaims Middlestead.
Stay tuned for phase two (maybe a full color rebrand?)... but for now, enjoy the fresh vibes next time you walk by.
