4th Annual Food Drive a Record-Breaking Success.

The 4th annual Kelson Group Residents' Food Drive took place on June 17 at apartment buildings across the Kelson Group portfolio in Alberta and BC. And residents stepped up in a big way to benefit community food banks with non-perishable food donations.

"A heartfelt THANK YOU to our residents who combined, donated a whopping 6,000 pounds of non-perishable food items," said Kelly Fawcett, Vice President of Maintenance and Construction, Kelson Group. "We know in these COVID-19 times, many are struggling to make ends meet, so to have such generosity displayed by our residents to help others in their communities is quite astounding!"

The idea for the Kelson Group Residents' Food Drive came together to make a difference in the 10 local communities where Kelson Group owns and operates apartments. It was an initiative the entire staff team and then the residents got involved in and has been a successful fundraiser for food banks across the two provinces.

In keeping with tradition, Kelson Group will donate one dollar for every pound of food collected – which means the company will cut a cheque for $6,000 to be distributed to food banks across BC and Alberta.

"Seeing an event like this, where Kelson Group residents and staff work together to offer something so meaningful to the communities we live in, makes us all proud of what we've been able to accomplish together," said Fawcett. "In a world where hunger permeates our neighbourhoods, schools, workplaces, and community at large, we could not think of a better area to support. We know these donations will have a big impact on others."

The entire Kelson Group team expresses their appreciation for the support of the residents to help tackle hunger in the many communities by giving so generously. "It is such a great feeling to do this together because we know we're helping others in our community live better."
